“I have a lot of memories when Ederson saves and opponents make good saves. A key player.”
“A lot, his maturity is getting there. We normally don’t concede much, when the opponent arrive, he’s there. The first save against [Michail] Antonio, the corner. An incredible threat with [Kurt] Zouma. Headers, a good save at 1-1. We concede few shots but these details make the difference. He was there again.”
Ederson has taken his game to another level
Pep Guardiola is right in lauding Ederson, whose importance often gets understated by the masses.
While the former Benfica goalkeeper’s shotstopping was far from its best during the 2021/2022 season, he stepped up his game in the following campaign.
Especially in the Champions League last season, making decisive saves against the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
Considering how remarkable Ederson is on the ball and as a sweeper-keeper, his improved shotstopping makes him one of, if not the most complete goalkeeper in the world.
