Kyle Walker has been blown away by one of his Manchester City teammate’s performances this season.

Manchester City are enjoying another great campaign and still have a good chance of claiming a remarkable back-to-back treble.

Pep Guardiola’s side have one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals, are into the last eight of the FA Cup and sit just one point off the top of the Premier League table.

City maintained pressure on leaders Liverpool with a 3-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford did give the visitors a shock lead but a stunning Phil Foden brace and late Erling Haaland strike completed the turnaround.

Foden has once again grabbed the headlines for his sensational performance and Kyle Walker moved to praise him even more afterwards.

Kyle Walker’s praise for Phil Foden

Speaking to City’s in-house media, Walker said: “Phil has been absolutely class, and he was the difference today.

“He’s had a lot of top players in front of him, especially since we started, with the likes of Leroy [Sane], Raz [Raheem Sterling, Bernardo [Silva] when he’s played on the right and Riyad [Mahrez].

“He’s been patient, he’s bided his time and now he’s reaping the rewards.

“He’s coming up to 24 and he’s not a young lad anymore – it’s about taking a little bit of the weight and he’s doing that extremely well. Long may it continue.”

Phil Foden continues to shine

Those who questioned Guardiola’s usage of Foden for years have all gone very quiet now.

The manager nurtured Foden from when he was just 17 to now where he is one of, if not the, best player in the Premier League.

Guardiola resisted countless screams to send Foden out on loan for more action and his decision has paid off massively.

The 23-year-old was already great but has moved up another level this season as he helped fill the void when Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne were both sidelined.

Foden now has 28 goal contributions to his name this season, already a record tally and there is plenty of football in which to take it even higher yet.
