Manchester City have been accused of falling asleep at times this season.

Indeed, City have been tired this season, and many players have looked exhausted.

Ruben Dias has been shattered this season, while Nathan Ake has been accused of falling asleep in defence too.

Of course, being caught napping on the pitch is unacceptable, but, according to Kyle Walker, one Man City player used to literally fall asleep during team meetings.

Speaking on his podcast, Walker noted that Leroy Sane used to be able to fall asleep anywhere, including, on certain occasions, during team meetings.

Leroy Sane used to fall asleep in team meetings

Walker spoke about how Sane used to fall asleep during team meetings.

The full-back was asked to discuss the sleeping habits of some of his teammates, and he noted that Sane was the type of person who could just nod off at any moment.

“There’s another player who jumps to mind, other than you, Leroy Sane. He could sleep wherever. He’d fall asleep sometimes in meetings,” Walker said.

“Falling asleep in meetings? Imagine that, that’s cold isn’t it? The co-host said.

“You’d give him a quick nudge yeah, and he’d be like that ‘oh, thank you.’”

Leroy Sane stats for Man City

Leroy Sane may have often fallen asleep in team meetings at Manchester City, but that didn’t stop him from becoming a top player under Pep Guardiola.

Indeed, Sane was exceptional for City, winning two Premier League titles during his time at the Etihad.

Sane was brilliant for the Cityzens, as the stats show.

Pep Guardiola is a footballing genius, and falling asleep in his team meetings isn’t advisable if you want to improve as a player.

However, Sane managed to be a star under Guardiola despite routinely falling asleep in these situations.

Who knows? Perhaps the manager’s instructions somehow got through to Sane on a subconscious level as he dozed off during these meetings.
