Kyle Walker believes one Manchester City player is the best he’s ever seen for one thing, but reports are suggesting that player is set to leave this summer.
Walker is without a doubt one of the top right-backs in football.
He may now be 33, but the star remains a fantastic player and is most definitely in the conversation for the greatest Premier League right-backs of all-time.
Walker has been speaking about other right-backs in the game, praising the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James. He has also been very impressed by former City youngster Jeremie Frimpong.
But Walker also mentioned Joao Cancelo, and gave the Portuguese a huge compliment…
Manchester City star Kyle Walker says Joao Cancelo is the best right-back technically he has ever seen

Walker spoke about Cancelo on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel.
Cancelo, of course, is currently out on loan at Barcelona, who are currently being heavily linked with a permanent move for him this summer.
Cancelo wants out of City, and recently made some new comments about Pep Guardiola to suggest he has no intention of sticking around. He branded suggestions about his ‘negative’ reaction to being dropped last season as ‘lies’.
Barca are said to be ‘increasingly confident’ of landing the 29-year-old permanent. But they could face competition from Arsenal with Mikel Arteta said to be keen.
If City do sell Cancelo, then the club will be losing a top player in the eyes of Walker. He believes that no one comes close to Cancelo in terms of technical ability for a right-back. He said: “He’s one that’s definitely, I should have mentioned him, in the best right-backs.
“Technically he’s the best I’ve ever seen. Ever seen! Inside, outside, how he controls the ball, his dribbling…”
Cancelo’s technical ability has never been in doubt
It’s interesting to hear Walker talk about Cancelo as the best right-back technically that he has ever seen.
Certainly, he has done things on a football pitch that very few players playing his position have done.
Some of the assists he has supplied over the years have been amazing to watch. His trivela passes, which are hard to execute, are especially nice, and he also has really good shooting ability.
The main thing question with Cancelo has always been his defending, which is an area in which Walker is a lot better than his Etihad teammate.
But most definitely, very few in the game can hold a candle to Cancelo when it comes to technical ability.
