Kyle Walker has acknowledged one player who Manchester City sold for just £350,000 as one of the best in his position now.
In terms of right-backs in football, Walker remains one of the very best around.
In a lot of people’s eyes, he is the greatest to ever play in the Premier League, although that is perhaps a conversation for when he finally leaves the division.
Walker – who limped out of England’s defeat to Brazil on Saturday – has no plans to retire any time soon, but undoubtedly, City do need to start thinking about long-term replacements for the 33-year-old.
There are lots of top right-backs out there, and Walker has praised one player Manchester City actually sold…
Kyle Walker is a big fan of former Manchester City right-back Jeremie Frimpong

Walker has made an appearance on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE YouTube channel and spoke about a variety of topics.
He was initially talking about England right-backs, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James and Kieran Trippier.
But talk then turned to right-backs from further afield who have caught Walker’s eye, and the £175k-a-week man gave Jeremie Frimpong his flowers.
He said: “What’s the wing-back at Bayer Leverkusen who was at City? Frimpong? Oh my good gosh, how many goals has he scored? Incredible.”
City may want to monitor Frimpong
With City needing a long-term successor to Walker, it would perhaps be wise for the club to keep tabs on Frimpong, who has become a serious player since leaving the Etihad.
Netherlands international Frimpong joined Celtic for around £350,000, and not a great deal was made of the sale at the time.
But he’s worked extremely hard and has been absolutely thriving this season under Xabi Alonso as a wing-back, and clearly has a lot of attacking quality.
With Pep Guardiola liking to push his full-backs high, perhaps Frimpong could be considered for a possible swoop later down the line.
Perhaps he would be open to returning to the club where it all began for him. That said, he would not come cheap, as the player signed a contract extension with Leverkusen until 2028 back in October.
