Last season, Manchester City made history by becoming the first club ever to win four Premier League titles in a row.
This was an extraordinary feat, and it came just one year after the club won the Champions League to complete an historic Treble.
The last two years have perhaps been the most successful in the club’s history.
It is extremely difficult to win just one Premier League title, as the level of competition these days is just sky-high. So to win it four times in a row is simply incredible.
The goal for Manchester City this season will be to extend that winning run in the Premier League to five, and captain Kyle Walker has been giving his thoughts on whether that is possible or not.
Kyle Walker says fifth straight Premier League title is ‘our trophy to lose’

City are the favourites once again this year.
The club were run close last season by Arsenal, and the Gunners were only edged out on the final day in 2023/24.
The Gunners have made good progress in recent times and could well be a big threat once again this time around.
Liverpool will be interesting as they are now under new management with Arne Slot.
It could be that a new challenger comes into the mix, like Manchester United, Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur.
But for £50 million star Walker, a fifth straight title is in City’s hands. He told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club (via BBC Sport): “I wouldn’t say it’s an ego, but we’ve done this now four times in a row – this is our trophy to lose.
“I can assure you, when you’re looking down at your arm and you’ve got that gold badge that no one else has got it’s a good feeling. Long may it continue.
“For us to go and do four in a row off the back of a Treble was a great achievement. To pick yourself up and go again after such a high, plus we won the Super Cup and Club World Cup as well, was especially important.
“Now, why can’t we go and do five in a row? Why can’t we go and do something I don’t think will probably be ever be done again? That’s the motivation we have to create from us as a group of players, from me as a captain.”
City will not have it easy
City will start as the favourites once again for the title, but it will be very tough to win it this season. Four in a row was difficult and obviously historic, but to win five in a row would be out of this world.
Arsenal have made fantastic progress over the last two years and will surely run City very close once again. Paul Scholes actually thinks the Gunners might edge City this time around.
It remains to be seen how Arne Slot gets on at Liverpool, but you get the sense that City will have to be at their very best this season in order to win a fifth Premier League title.
But if any team is going to achieve something so extraordinary, it is this one with Pep Guardiola at the helm.
He has proven himself to be one of the finest tacticians there has ever been, and it could be his final season which may serve as his motivation.
