It has been reported that Chelsea are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Manchester City target Michael Olise.

This comes from journalist Rudy Galetti, after it was claimed on Saturday that he looked set to join Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Now, it seems like Manchester City could see Michael Olise become a Chelsea player after all.

Journalist: Manchester City target Michael Olise set for Chelsea transfer

It was revealed less than two weeks ago that Pep Guardiola’s side were indeed targeting a move for the Crystal Palace winger.

The links made sense, considering the French U-21 international is perhaps the most similar player to Riyad Mahrez in the Premier League, apart from Cole Palmer.

However, now it has been reported that Chelsea are at the ‘last steps’ of a deal to get Michael Olise to Stamford Bridge.

At this current moment, the Blues are believed to be in ‘advanced talks’ with Crystal Palace before potentially signing the 21-year-old.

In addition, personal terms are said to be verbally agreed ahead of this reported transfer.

Jeremy Doku may be Manchester City’s alternative instead

Considering Rennes manager Bruno Genesio himself suggested that if the right fee comes at their door, they could sell Jeremy Doku which indicates that Manchester City may well be closing in a move for him, naturally ending their interest in Chelsea target Michael Olise.

It was also revealed on Sunday that alongside West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta, Pep Guardiola is also keen on signing the Belgian winger.

At the end of the day, the treble-winner had always set their sights on signing either Olise or Doku.

If the Sky Blues end up bringing in the Rennes sensation instead, the Etihad faithful are unlikely to be disappointed in the slightest.

Especially if Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has spotted something special in Jeremy Doku instead of Chelsea-bound Michael Olise.
