Manchester City have big plans for the summer transfer window
The Manchester club have underperformed this season having gone from winning four Premier League titles in a row to fighting for a place in next season’s Champions League, however, the campaign can still be salvaged by achieving this, in addition to winning the FA Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Pep Guardiola will not want a repeat of this throughout the 2025/26 campaign, although the end of the season has been positive for the Spanish coach.
City are currently nine games unbeaten, and Gary Neville expects Man City to make that 10 on Saturday with a win over Southampton.
The legendary coach has found solutions, but new faces will be required for the 2025/26 campaign and Man City may have run into a small problem, as Liverpool have joined the race for one of their top targets.

Liverpool join Man City in the race for Wesley
It was reported this week that Man City have made Wesley their top target for the right-back role this summer, should Guardiola opt to address the position ahead of the new season.
City are said to be pushing for the Brazilian talent with the hope of getting the deal wrapped up before the FIFA Club World Cup gets underway in June, with the Manchester club’s campaign kicking off on June 18 against Moroccan outfit Wydad AC.
However, Sky Sports has now reported a small problem for the Manchester club as Liverpool and Man United have started tracking the 21-year-old, who are just two amongst several European clubs.

The report also states that Flamengo are looking for £30m for Wesley this summer, which should not be a problem for Man City should they make a move for a player described as “one of the next top talents in Brazil”.
Should the Premier League club get a deal done for Wesley over the coming weeks, the 21-year-old will be the second Brazilian talent City have signed during the last few months after Guardiola added Vitor Reis to his squad in January.

Man City’s other right-back targets
Should the Wesley deal not go to plan, Sky Sports states that Guardiola has other targets in mind, with several names on the Spanish coach’s list as he looks to replace Kyle Walker in his squad after the veteran full-back joined AC Milan on loan in January, with a permanent move an option this summer.
It was said this week that Newcastle’s Tino Livramento is another one of Man City’s top targets; however, that would be a tough deal to get over the line given the Englishman’s importance to Eddie Howe, with a transfer also being expensive given the player has a contract on Tyneside until 2028.
| Player | Games | Goals | Assists | Minutes |
| Wesley Franca | 19 | 1 | 2 | 1613 |
| Tino Livramento | 42 | 0 | 1 | 3189 |
PSG’s Achraf Hakimi was top of Man City’s list last summer, and that interest is unlikely to have died after the season the Moroccan star has had in France, but just like Livramento, a deal for the 26-year-old will be very tough to complete.
More of Man City’s targets may emerge over the coming weeks, but for now, it seems the Manchester club have all eyes on Wesley, with the hope of bringing the Brazilian talent to the Etihad before the Club World Cup gets underway.
