Man City travel to Southampton on Saturday as Pep Guardiola’s men look to continue their push for Champions League football.
The Manchester club currently sit in third position in the Premier League standings, three points ahead of Nottingham Forest in sixth position, and a win over the Saints on Saturday would all but confirm their place in next season’s Champions League.

Man City were 1-0 winners over Wolves last time out, and that result made it nine games unbeaten for Guardiola’s men, who could have Erling Haaland back this weekend after he appeared on the bench last Friday night.
Man City are heavy favourites to beat Southampton on Saturday, and Gary Neville’s prediction for the contest has left Paul Scholes stunned.

Gary Neville predicts a tight game between Man City and Southampton
Southampton have performed very poorly in the Premier League this season as the Saints currently sit bottom of the table on just 11 points.
Despite this, Neville has predicted that Man City beat Simon Rusk’s team by a scoreline of only 2-0, which left Scholes stunned when the words came out of the Sky Sports pundit’s mouth.
“Scholsey, I think 2-0 City,” Neville said on Stick To Football when asked to predict Southampton vs Man City. To which Scholes replied: “Two? Jeez! I was thinking seven.”
Ian Wright would follow that up by saying the result would be three or four-nil to Man City, with the former Arsenal star adding: “Man City will run riot there, I think.”
This is a score most football fans would predict for the contest at St Mary’s, given the gap in quality, the form of Man City, and some of the recent performances from players such as Josko Gvardiol.

Man City’s record vs Southampton
In addition to the above factors, Man City have a better head-to-head record over Southampton as the Manchester club have won 42, drawn 27, and lost 33 against the Saints.
As for Guardiola, the Man City boss has an even superior record against the Southern outfit as the Spanish coach has played the Saints 18 times, winning 13, drawing three, and losing just twice.
Back in October, Man City only narrowly beat Southampton 1-0 thanks to a Haaland goal, which makes Neville’s prediction look a little better.
Ruben Dias was one of the only Man City stars who performed on the day against Southampton, but this time around, Guardiola’s men should not expect much trouble.
Three points will be huge for City this weekend, and it will be the perfect way for the Manchester club to prepare for the FA Cup final next weekend.
