Alex Scott looks set to make a move to the Premier League, but Manchester City should be all over him.
City are no strangers to identifying the best young talents in the game – their record of selling their academy talents to Premier League and Champions League clubs shows that.
However, there is one youngster who seems to have gone under their radar, despite past comments made by both Pep Guardiola and Jack Grealish.
Alex Scott looks set to complete a £25m move from Bristol City to Bournemouth after enjoying an impressive campaign in the Championship.
The 19-year-old midfielder joined Bristol City in 2021 after impressing in the English non-league system with Guernsey.
Last season he scored one goals and provided five assists as his side finished a disappointing 14th in the Championship, but that hasn’t stopped Premier League clubs from recognising his talent and potential.
Scott is the number one transfer target of Wolves, but they look set to be pipped to the post by Bournemouth after their opening two offers were rejected.

City know first-hand how good Scott is, as he impressed both Guardiola and £100m man Jack Grealish when the two sides met in the FA Cup in February.
City rode out comfortable 3-0 winners, but after the match Guardiola described Scott as an ‘unbelievable player’.
Responding on Twitter to Scott’s post-match interview during which the youngster admitted his admiration for Grealish, the City star said: ‘Top, top talent’.
On Scott’s situation, Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson said:
“We don’t want to sell him, that’s why we’re pricing him the way that we are, and actually having seen him since the start of pre-season we should be asking £30 million for him, never mind £25 million.”
Following the departure of Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan, City could do with bringing in an extra body in attack.
While Scott is far from a ready-made fit and would need a few years to integrate, he has already proven to City and Guardiola that he can play against top teams.
