Manchester City has given the green light for numerous players to leave the club over recent years.
More specifically, City have seen many players move in and out of their youth academy during previous transfer windows.
For example, players such as Micah Hamilton, Tommy Doyle and Taylor Harwood-Bellis among others have all waved goodbye to the Etihad Stadium to start new chapters elsewhere.
At this stage of the season, one former City youth figure has shown why the Premier League champions may have made a mistake in letting him go when they did and how he could have saved them a transfer headache.

Man City may now regret selling Morgan Rogers
Joining City’s youth ranks from West Bromwich Albion in 2019 and completing numerous loan spells away from the club, Morgan Rogers was sold to Middlesbrough in the 2023 summer transfer window.
Having then gone on to sign for Aston Villa in the previous January window, the 22-year-old has now scored five goals and delivered four assists in 27 appearances for Unai Emery’s side.
Back in April, Emery described Rogers’ traits as being “perfect” for his Villa side.
His latest match for the Villans saw the midfielder deliver an assist and put in an eye-catching performance in the Midlands club’s recent 2-0 win over Bologna in the Champions League.
Specifically, the former City youngster made more key passes (4) than any other Villa player, ultimately earning himself an overall match rating of 8/10 from SofaScore – the highest in the Villa team.
Rogers has been compared to Jamal Musiala
Last month saw Tony Cascarino liken Rogers to Jamal Musiala – who has been linked with a transfer move to City in recent months.
Specifically, Cascarino claimed in a video shared on the talkSPORT website last month that Rogers reminds him of Musiala in the way he gets on the ball and immediately makes problems for the opposition.
With the Villa star showing how dangerous he can be on the pitch, he could have been City’s ideal alternative for Musiala if they had kept hold of him and embedded him into their senior squad.
