Oasis are back and with tickets set to go on sale on Saturday, Pep Guardiola has given his verdict on Manchester City’s most famous supporters reuniting.

August has been the month for unlikely and incredible reunions involving Manchester City.

First up, Ilkay Gundogan made his heroic return to the Etihad Stadium after leaving for Barcelona a year ago.

Treble-winning captain Gundogan was welcomed home as he made his second debut in the 4-1 hammering of Ipswich Town on Saturday.

In fact, just before Gundogan signed, Noel Gallagher sent him a text message asking him to return.

Things got even better on Tuesday when it transpired that all the rumours were true, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have miraculously buried the hatchet and Oasis are back.

The Manchester rockers split up in 2009 and all fans have wanted for the 15 years since is for them to get back together. All those dreams have come true and the band will embark on a tour of the UK and Ireland in 2025.

Pep Guardiola is delighted to see Oasis back together and is one of millions hoping to see them in action.

Pep Guardiola hopes to see Oasis live in 2025

Speaking ahead of City’s match with West Ham United on Saturday, Guardiola was asked about Oasis and couldn’t hide his delight.

He said when asked if he would be going to see a gig: “Yeah, if we can go, we go. Absolutely.

“It’s good news I think for music. They are back, so it’s fantastic for the thousand, million fans they have around the world and especially in the UK.

“It’s really good.”

How to get Oasis tickets

Guardiola will be trying to get his hands on Oasis tickets and he won’t be the only one as millions upon millions of people will be doing all they can to secure their spot at one of the 17 gigs.

As expected, there has already been unprecedented demand for Oasis tickets with applications for the pre-sale ballot freezing and taking time for applications to be processed.

If you haven’t already signed up then you are too late, with all pre-sale ticket ballot codes now being sent out to those few fortunate fans.

Instead, you will have to try your luck when the tickets go on general sale at 9 am on Saturday, August 31.

They are bound to sell out completely in seconds so make sure you are up and ready nice and early, with queues to get onto both TicketMaster and Gigs and Tours inevitable.

Why Oasis are not playing at the Etihad Stadium?

If there is one slight twinge of disappointment for City supporting Oasis fans it’s that there will be no homecoming shows at the Etihad Stadium.

Oasis’ five gigs in Manchester will all be played at Heaton Park on July 11, 12, 16, 19 and 20.

According to the Daily Mail, the reason there will be no shows at the Etihad is because there will be ongoing redevelopment of the stadium in the summer of 2025, making gigs impossible.

The capacity of the Etihad is being increased to 61,000 and a new hotel, museum, club store and roof walk experience are all being added as well.

Oasis are also playing in Cardiff, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.
