Manchester City are no strangers when it comes to loaning out players to other clubs.

Over the past few years, for example, City have seen the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Joao Cancelo and James McAtee, among many others, leave the Etihad Stadium on temporary deals.

With Pep Guardiola having the chance to see a number of some of the Manchester club’s younger players in action during their current pre-season tour of America, some behind-the-scenes details have come to light regarding what the future could hold for one youngster in particular.

Man City to discuss Mahamadou Susoho’s future after pre-season tour

A recent report from the Daily Mail had this to say on the matter.

It said: “Usually a central-midfielder, the versatile Mahamadou Susoho (19) has been trialled at right back.

“He looked at home when in his natural position in the game with Barca and there will be discussions over his next steps when they’re back in Manchester.

“City could look to let Susoho learn the rigours of the professional game on loan for a year.”

A loan could be the ideal next step for Susoho

At the age of 19, the midfielder has made 42 appearances for City’s youth sides across all competitions, chipping in with four goals and two assists.

The Spaniard made his senior debut for the Blues last season during City’s 3-2 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League, making a 14-minute cameo off the bench after travelling with some other youngsters.

Back in November, Brian Barry-Murphy told the Manchester Evening News that Susoho has some “uncoachable” aspects to his game that make him a special player.

Moving forward, if regular game time in City’s first team isn’t likely to come his way next season, a loan move to another club where he’d be able to get senior minutes on a consistent basis would be the ideal next step for the teenager.
