Manchester City have a track record when it comes to signing players from La Liga.
In fact, since their Abu Dhabi takeover back in 2008, some of the biggest players in City’s recent history have come over from the Spanish league such as Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and David Silva to name a few.
A more recent acquisition from La Liga saw City sign Rodri – who won the 2024 Ballon d’Or – from Atletico Madrid and have since gone on to see the midfielder become a crucial figure for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Now though, the Manchester club have set their sights on two players currently making a name for themselves in Spain.

Man City interested in two La Liga players
According to a recent report from Caught Offside, City are one of the many European clubs who have an interest in Celta Vigo winger Williot Swedberg and Las Palmas’ attacking-midfielder Alberto Moleiro.
However, the report also adds that fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and Newcastle United have the most interest in the duo and have sent scouts to watch them in action.
Some of the other clubs interested in Swedberg and Moleiro include Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Inter, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, Roma and Villarreal.

Since joining Celta back in the 2022 summer transfer window, Swedberg has scored seven goals and delivered four assists in 39 appearances.
In comparison, Moleiro has bagged 11 goals and supplied 13 assists in 124 senior appearances for Las Palmas at the age of just 21.

With so many clubs across Europe said to be keeping an eye on Swedberg and Moleiro, this shows how impressive they are as young players to have caught the attention of such a wide range of top clubs.
Moving forward, if City feel that either player would be useful additions to their squad, it seems likely that it may not be particularly straightforward in landing a deal for them based on the amount of other clubs like Newcastle and Arsenal also in the mix for the duo.
