Man City fans all say the same thing about Jack Grealish after Leicester City, Pep had it all wrong

The wait is over – Jack Grealish has scored in the Premier League for Man City for the first time since December 2023.

It’s a first Premier League goal of the season for Manchester City’s record signing Jack Grealish, and a first Premier League goal in 473 days, ending what’s been a rather torrid wait for a goal.

Grealish has faced criticism from Man City fans all season and it’s lead to a lot of speculation about his future at the Etihad, with suggestions that Man City could sell Grealish this summer, and for as little as £35million.

But starting in the no.10 role, Grealish got on the scoresheet against Leicester City and put in a good overall performance as City ran out 2-0 winners on a routine night in Manchester.

Man City fans all agree Jack Grealish is best as a no.10

So often, Pep Guardiola has persisted with Grealish out on the left wing. But after watching him against Leicester, Man City fans are convinced that Grealish has always been better as a no.10, and always will be.

“Grealish down the middle? It’s a miracle. Finally Pep did it,” posted one Man City fan online. Other comments read: “Grealish masterclass as a no.10 absolute buzzing,” and: “Grealish at 10 is incredibly good.”

Another added: “Grealish has to specifically play the number 10 role. He was born for it,” whilst a lengthier post read: “Grealish will definitely add numbers to his game if he gets a run in midfield. He’s more involved, more influential. Very difficult to get the ball off him in these kind of positions.”

This Man City fan wrote: “One of those rare occasions when Pep decided to play Jack Grealish as a 10, which is his natural position, and he actually cooked. Some players are not versatile enough, put them in their original positions/roles and they will cook.”

Jack Grealish’s stats for Man City vs Leicester City

Although quieter in the second half, Grealish was everywhere in the first 45. He was involved every good Man City attack and he’s certainly given pep some food for thought, especially with Omar Marmoush looking like the stand in no.9 whilst Erling Haaland is injured.

And Grealish’s stats show that he was certainly involved on Wednesday night, albeit against a very poor Leicester City side…
