Tottenham Hotspur were crowned UEFA Europa League champions on Wednesday night.

Ange Postecoglou’s side were 1-0 winners over Manchester United, and the victory saw the North London club win their first trophy for 17 years.

Man City fans would have been over the moon with this result as it will set Man United back a few more years, however, there was another reason for the City supporters to celebrate, as one of their former stars, Pedro Porro, was part of the winning Tottenham team.

After the full-time whistle went, Man City fans thought of the right-back, and many went out of their way to congratulate the 25-year-old.

Man City fans want Pedro Porro to return

Porro was a Man City player between 2019 and 2022 after the Manchester club bought the defender from Girona; however, the full-back would never make an appearance at the Etihad Stadium.

Since then, Porro has become one of the Premier League’s best full-backs and could be an option for Pep Guardiola should he decide to recruit for the role over the summer.

Porro has been linked to Man City, and after winning the Europa League, many fans would love to see him return.

Reacting to a post with comments from the Tottenham star about the Manchester club at the start of 2025, City fans congratulated the 25-year-old on winning the Europa League, while some want him to return.

One Man City fan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Making us proud”.

Another supporter of the Manchester club wrote: “After his performance tonight, we should maybe bring him back. He was outstanding”.

A third Man City fan simply said: “Come back man”.

Full-backs Man City are looking to sign this summer

Right-back is a position Guardiola is looking to strengthen this summer, and it is believed that Flamengo’s Wesley is Man City’s top target.

There are other options on City’s list, with Newcastle’s Tino Livramento among them; however, signing the Englishman will be expensive as Eddie Howe will not want to let him go.

This scenario is the same with Porro as Tottenham will certainly not want to lose any of their top stars next season, having now secured a place in the Champions League next season.

Porro may return to Man City one day, but the likelihood of that being this summer is low as Guardiola has other areas he also needs to address, such as his midfield.
