Jeremy Doku starred for Belgium as they demolished Kazakhstan 6-0 in his country’s latest 2026 World Cup qualifier.
The winger’s first goal must have put a smile on every Manchester City fan’s face as he cut inside before slotting the ball into the top corner after being played through in acres of space by Kevin De Bruyne.
Jeremy Doku’s second strike was arguably even better as he seemed to have taken a heavy touch but still managed to rifle the ball past Mukhammedzhan Seysen with his weaker left foot.
As the 23-year-old also played a major role in Nicolas Raskin’s goal by setting the midfielder up for a tap-in, Manchester City fans lauded the Belgian’s masterful showing.

One Manchester City fan urged Pep Guardiola to start Doku against Manchester City as Belgium took Kazakhstan apart, simply writing: “Bro is on form, start him against United.”
A second City supporter lauded his display, commenting: “He’s been incredible today.”
A third Manchester City fan predicted Doku to become a top-class player in the future after witnessing him shine for Belgium against Kazakhstan: “Like I said before, it may take a couple years, [but] he is going to be one of the best wingers in the world.”
Another City fan called on the others within the fanbase who admire the former Rennes forward to celebrate his heroics: “Doku hive, stand up, we are not dead yet!”
A fifth supporter added: “Jeremy Doku! My winger, we are eating good!”
Finally, a sixth fan praised Doku after Belgium’s emphatic win against Kazakhstan by writing: “Doku, what a baller.”
Doku struggled against Lichtenstein but he redeemed himself by arguably emerging as Rudi Garcia’s best player on Sunday.
Jeremy Doku stats for Belgium vs Kazakhstan
City supporters will be hoping that if Pep Guardiola starts the ex-Anderlecht wideman against Manchester United after the international break, he steps up to the plate as well.
However, Doku’s stats for Belgium against Kazakhstan suggest why Manchester City fans sang his praises.
| JEREMY DOKU’S STATS VS KAZAKHSTAN | |
| GOALS | 2 |
| SHOTS | 6 |
| KEY PASSES | 2 |
| HIT WOODWORK | 1 |
| DRIBBLES COMPLETED | 1 |
Doku scored two goals, hit the woodwork once, attempted six shots and completed just one dribble in an atypical display from the wide forward, who is yet to prove he can become an elite player in the final third.
However, it seems like City’s number 11 is focused on reaching the next level by becoming a bankable asset in advanced areas of the pitch like some of the best forwards in world football.
