Man City secured a huge three points against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
Pep Guardiola’s side are in a tough fight for a place in next season’s Champions League and playing a direct rival in Aston Villa, the three points will go a long way in helping City achieve their goal as the Manchester club have now moved up to third in the Premier League standings.
Omar Marmoush played a key role in Man City’s opening goal, which was scored by Bernardo Silva, before Ruben Dias conceded a penalty for a foul on Jacob Ramsey, which Marcus Rashford converted to take the game into halftime level at 1-1.
Guardiola made a substitution late in the second half and Man City fans are now calling for that player to start in their FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest at the weekend after the role he played in City’s win over Aston Villa.

Man City fans call for Jeremy Doku to start for Man City
Jeremy Doku replaced James McAtee with 74 minutes on the clock and went on to assist Matheus Nunes’ 94th-minute winner, which followed the Belgian’s role in City’s win over Everton at the weekend.
The winger has not cemented a place in Guardiola’s starting 11 this season, and now fans of the Manchester club want to see the 22-year-old start as the Man City boss continues to work with Doku.
Writing on X (formerly known as Twitter), one fan stated: “Doku again brilliant off the bench! Got to start at weekend!”
“Doku has absolutely won us the last two games. I love him,” another City fan stated about the Belgian.
A third fan wrote: “Doku’s assist was a masterpiece—he danced through defenders like they were cones, and City are taking full advantage.”
Pep Guardiola needs to get the best out of Jeremy Doku
Doku has been with Man City since moving to the Etihad Stadium as part of a £55.5m deal with Rennes during the summer of 2023 and despite showing plenty of promising moments, the winger has not performed consistently in Manchester.
The 22-year-old has not started in any of City’s last four Premier League games, but is now starting to have an impact from the bench, which shows that the Belgium international is improving and he may have earned himself a start against Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Doku’s end product has been a big concern for fans of the Manchester club, while Ian Wright has called for the Man City star to work on his left foot, but both will improve over time.
Guardiola needs to get the best out of Doku ahead of next season, because if the winger can put everything together, Man City have a serious player on their hands.
