Manchester City fans know who they want their club to sign during the final week of the transfer window after watching Newcastle vs Liverpool on Monday night.
The two clubs played out a thriller at St James’ Park, which saw ten-man Newcastle come back from a two-goal deficit, only for Liverpool to score a very late winner.
With their backs against the wall, several of the Magpies’ stars stood out, with Bruno Guimaraes and Dan Burn among them; however, Man City fans had an eye on another of Eddie Howe’s stars and are now begging their club to go and sign him.

Manchester City fans want Tino Livramento signed
Man City entered the summer transfer window with a right-back as a priority; however, the Manchester club failed to acquire a player for that position.
Newcastle’s Tino Livramento was Man City’s top target, with the Magpies requesting at least £80m to part ways with the defender.
City wouldn’t even attempt to sign Livramento, as it became known that the Newcastle defender is closing in on a new contract at St James’ Park, with the 22-year-old believed to be happy on Tyneside.
Having watched the right-back impress at left-back against Liverpool on Monday night, Man City fans made it clear that they want the England star to be their next signing before the transfer window shuts.
One Man City fan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Livramento. Originally a right-back. Balling at left-back too. He’s complete man. Exactly what we’re looking for at right-back. Next summer, he should top the list of transfer targets.”
A second supporter of the Manchester club added: “We have to do everything to get him, perfect for us.”
A final City fan compared Livramento to Kyle Walker: “Signing Livramento is acquiring a young [Kyle] Walker with better technical and physical profile: pace, power, 1v1 defensive isolations, progressive carries, dribbling, central inversions, passing repertoire, deliveries, and LB shifts. Nunes/Lewis are valuable, but they are midfielders.”
Livramento would be an incredible addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad before the summer transfer window shuts, but it is an unrealistic one, as Newcastle have no intention of selling the full-back.
Tino Livramento vs Liverpool in numbers
Livramento has been a key part of Howe’s squad since moving to Newcastle during the summer of 2023, with the Magpies boss heaping praise on the full-back last season for his performances.
“Yeah, Tino’s done really well. I think another big game for him today, because he’s playing against arguably their most dangerous player [Mbeumo]. I thought he defended very well,” Howe said after a game with Brentford via The Shields Gazette.
“Athletically, Tino’s excellent, and we know that. We’ve seen that since he’s come to the football club. But to have the responsibility of playing left-back on the opposite side to his natural foot and play the way that he has, and also building the relationship with Harvey [Barnes] that he has done, they’ve played very well together.”
The Englishman was exceptional in the role again on Monday night against Liverpool, with the defender standing out for 10-man Newcastle.
The 22-year-old finished a tough game with one assist, one chance created, two touches in the opposition box, was dispossessed just once, made three recoveries, two interceptions, completed 17/22 passes, 3/5 successful dribbles, 2/3 crosses, and won 6/9 of his ground duels.
It is impossible for Man City to sign Livramento this summer, but the Newcastle star is certainly a target the Manchester club should revisit next year.
