Manchester City fell to a fourth consecutive defeat with a 2-1 loss against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Coming in off of their third defeat on the bounce – which hasn’t happened since 2018 – against Sporting CP in the Champions League, City were handed their second Premier League loss of the campaign against the Seagulls.
Erling Haaland scored in the 23rd minute to put Pep Guardiola’s side ahead, only for the away team to concede two goals in five minutes during the second half.
Despite their continued calamities at the back, several City supporters took to social media to expose one particular figure from City’s squad for what he was doing – or more specifically, wasn’t doing – in front of goal.

Man City fans question Savinho’s finishing after Brighton display
One user on X wrote: “Savinho is a menace on the wing bro Just needs that finishing and it’s over.”
Another shared: “Savinho needs to work on his finishing, that’s all he’s missing.”
Continuing on the theme of the Brazilian’s lacklustre finishing ability, one user questioned: “What’s Savinho actually adding?”
One City fan did manage to share some praise for the winger whilst also highlighting how much more clinical he needs to be in front of goal, saying: “Savinho is so good but he needs to learn how to score.”
However, another City supporter went against the grain and claimed that: “Savinho is just a hype…. Nothing more.”
How did Savinho fare against Brighton?
Finding himself in the starting XI once again, Savinho completed 74 minutes before being replaced by Kevin De Bruyne.
During his time on the pitch, the Brazilian had 52 touches of the ball in total, racking up two key passes and completing four of the five dribbles he attempted.
In terms of his attempts at goal, Savinho had two in total, only one of which was on target.
Having appeared in 15 matches for the Blues this season, it seems fair enough that the City supporters are starting to question the winger’s finishing ability.
In fact, Gareth Taylor discussed Savinho’s lack of goals after City’s 1-0 win over Southampton at the Etihad Stadium, saying this on the matter.
He said: “If he can get that goal I think it could unleash him and give him more confidence because we know he’s more than capable.”
With another international break set to kick off, Savinho and everyone connected to City will be hoping he comes back with his shooting boots on and starts getting some goals for himself and hopefully help fire his new side to some trophies.
