Manchester City’s squad are currently in the United States preparing for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Phil Foden has admitted that the Man City squad are keen to be the first winners of the revamped tournament, and that is evident in the strong squad the Premier League giants have picked to compete in America.

There were suggestions that Pep Guardiola is not too bothered about the FIFA Club World Cup, but now that the legendary coach has begun preparations, that may have changed, and it certainly will the deeper City go in the competition.

While Man City continue to prepare for their first match against Wydad AC next Wednesday, one star left at home has been causing some controversy with his latest comments, and fans of the Manchester club are all saying that he is now ruining his legacy.

Kyle Walker would give up a Premier League title he won with Man City

Kyle Walker has been at Man City for eight years, and during that time, the full-back has enjoyed incredible success. The 35-year-old has won everything at the Etihad Stadium, which includes six Premier League titles.

Walker is expected to leave Man City this summer, and the Englishman looks to be burning his bridges on the way out, as the defender has stated he would give up a Premier League title he won with the Manchester club in exchange for being part of the Tottenham squad that won the Europa League.

“I’d probably give up one Premier League, not the first, to win that [Europa League] with Tottenham,” Walker said on the latest episode of The Kyle Walker Podcast.

“I’d probably give my second, [no] that was Fourmidables… It’s hard to give one away, but I would if I could change it, just for what that moment meant to say that I was in that Spurs squad that won a trophy.”

It is fair to say that this has not gone down well with fans of the Manchester club, as the 35-year-old was a former captain and supposed to be a club legend.

Many fans believe the defender has been tarnishing his legacy over the last few months, and these comments may see Man City fans turn on the Englishman.

Man City fans react to Kyle Walker’s comments

Walker’s comments now seem to have reached the ears of most Man City fans, and supporters have been reacting to the defender’s words.

One Man City fan said on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Honestly, it’s like every time he speaks, he ruins it a bit more. I think it’s telling that we seemingly haven’t missed him at all.”

A second supporter of the Manchester club comments on Walker’s words by saying: “There is not another player on the planet that would give up a Premier League title to win the Europa League with Spurs.”

A third City fan would say: “He’s not going to be remembered anywhere. Tarnished at Spurs and now at City.”
