Manchester City’s opening game of the 2025/2026 season against Wolves is on the horizon.

As a result, it is vital for Pep Guardiola to have close to a fully-fit squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Guardiola aims to win the Premier League title and unlike last season, he will be hoping that his side are not impacted by as many injuries as they were during the previous term.

Since City’s return to training, one key figure who was initially not pictured in training was Rodri.

Rodri had fitness issues recently at the FIFA Club World Cup but after the fans spotted him in training, Manchester City supporters were over the moon.

Man City fans delighted after seeing Rodri return to training

While Rodri was seen watching his Manchester City teammates train recently, he was involved in proceedings on Monday as one fan reacted to seeing him in action by writing: “Rodri is back! We’re winning it all.”

A second City supporter claimed that just seeing the Spaniard train is enough to convince him that the Sky Blues will win the treble: “Treble season just started. One Rodri training picture is enough to make me optimistic.”

A third Manchester City reacted to a post that showed £62.5 million man, Rodri in training by expressing his joy, writing: “I see my Ballon d’Or winner.”

Another Sky Blues supporter was ecstatic about not just the 29-year-old’s sighting but also that of Claudio Echeverri, who could join Roma on loan, stating: “Rodri and Eche already back, bring it on.”

A fifth City fan predicted Pep Guardiola to win the league after seeing the midfield maestro train, claiming: “We will win the Premier League this season, I’ll come back to this at the end of the season.”

Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan had similar thoughts, backing his side to challenge for the league due to Rodri’s return to fitness, writing: “Rodri is here! Okay, our midfield is sorted, we can challenge for the title next season.”

The fact that simply witnessing the former Atletico Madrid conductor train is enough to excite the fanbase emphasises his value to this City team.

Rodri’s chances of starting for Manchester City vs Wolves

Only time will tell whether Pep Guardiola starts the four-time Premier League winner against Palermo on Sunday.

Manchester City fans will be hoping that Rodri is deemed fit enough to start against Wolves.

Manchester Evening News have reported that the club will determine whether he is ready to play from the off against Vitor Pereira’s side.
