Manchester City have seen just one new face join the club during this latest summer transfer window.
That came back in July as the Blues secured a deal to sign Savinho from Troyes on a five-year deal.
During his loan spell at Girona last season, the 20-year-old scored nine goals and provided 10 assists in 37 La Liga games.
With him now gearing up to take on his first Premier League season with Pep Guardiola’s side, some behind-the-scenes information has come to the fore regarding another Brazilian winger City have on their radar.

Man City have held talks with Rodrygo
Back in May, it was reported by Marca that City have an interest in signing Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who the Spanish club value at €120m (£102m) according to Mundo Deportivo (via Forbes).
Following this claim, a recent report from Football Transfers shared this update on the situation concerning the winger, who Carlo Ancelotti called “spectacular” back in May last year (via ESPN).
“Man City have been prominently linked with the 23-year-old in recent weeks and we have been assured that talks with the Brazilian have indeed taken place.
“He is a player greatly admired by the City brass, but his camp insisted that he is happy at Real Madrid during the contact.
“Were he to eventually leave, though, a move to the Etihad would appeal to him. Indeed, Real Madrid’s historic interest in Erling Haaland could see fresh talks over Rodrygo ignite in the future.
“A move this summer looks unlikely at this stage.”
Rodrygo would be a strong addition to City’s attack
Since arriving at the Spanish club back in 2019 from Santos, the 23-year-old has made 217 senior appearances for his current side in all competitions.
Across those games, Rodrygo has found the back of the net 54 times and provided 41 assists, lifting multiple domestic and European trophies in the process.
Interestingly, back in June, Sergio Aguero suggested that Rodrygo is a better attacker than Julian Alvarez, who recently left City to join Atletico Madrid in a deal worth £81m (via BBC Sport).
While a move for the Real star may not be on the cards this summer, there’s no doubt that he would massively strengthen City’s attacking power if he were to make a future move to the Etihad Stadium.
