Manchester City will be keen to get their summer business done as early as possible, especially with the FIFA Club World Cup set to kick off in June.

Pep Guardiola practically ruled out one signing by recently mentioning that City do not need to bring in a new centre-back due to having plenty of them on their books already.

Hugo Viana’s job at Manchester City must have been made easier by Guardiola’s admission.

However, in the full-back positions, the Sky Blues are certainly in need of reinforcements – with Nico O’Reilly and Matheus Nunes playing out of position as Pep Guardiola’s go-to pair in recent weeks.

Manchester City admire Andrea Cambiaso, who they were especially interested in bringing in during the January transfer window.

Man City agree personal terms to sign Juventus star Nicolo Savona

However, journalist Santi Aouna has reported that Manchester City have now agreed personal terms to sign Cambiaso’s teammate Nicolo Savona.

Contract terms are believed to have been discussed between Savona and City, with the player “keen” to make the move to the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City like Flamengo right-back Wesley Franca and he is their dream summer signing.

Thankfully for City, even France has said yes to a transfer like Savona.

Meanwhile, Tino Livramento is the backup option to the Brazilian and any move will depend on Newcastle United’s asking price.

While Manchester City fans might not have too much of an idea about Savona’s game, the Italian may have caught their attention when he managed to keep Jeremy Doku quiet during Juventus’ 2-0 win against Pep Guardiola’s men.

The 22-year-old, who can play as both a a right-back and at centre-back started out wide and came out on top as he was tasked to do a job on Doku.

The stats don’t lie as Savona stood out and was one of Juventus’ best players on the night.

While some might pay special attention to the fact that the youngster was dribbled past on two occasions, it is important to remember that he was up against one of the best dribblers in the world.

Winning half of his eight duels, misplacing just one of 23 passes while making several other important defensive contributions, Savona impressed and perhaps Manchester City felt he was the real deal since then.
