A major rebuild is on the cards at Manchester City as some exciting players have come in and some of the old guard are set to leave.
Kevin De Bruyne is set to leave Manchester City this summer, while the likes of Ederson and Bernardo Silva also face uncertain futures.
Meanwhile, the likes of Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis, Omar Marmoush and Nico Gonzalez have all joined the club in recent months.
Now, The Athletic’s Sam Lee has spoken about City’s plans for the summer transfer window.
He touched upon how many signings the club is planning to make, and also made a claim about Andrea Cambiaso, who City looked at in January.

Manchester City likely to sign new left-back as Andrea Cambiaso interest ‘easily’ revived
Lee, speaking on the Athletic FC Podcast, said City are looking to make a further “four or five signings” to go with the busy January transfer window they had.
He claimed that the left-back position will likely be strengthened and, while he didn’t say Cambiaso would definitely be targeted, he claimed it could “easily be revived”.
Lee said: “Four or five signings is the plan. It’s looking like left-back seems to be one.
“The way they were looking at Andrea Cambiaso in January, that’s one that could easily be revived.”
Where do Manchester City need to strengthen this summer?
As Lee said, the left-back position is likely to be a high priority for City, but there are other positions that could do with strengthening.
Right-back definitely needs some reinforcements, as Rico Lewis could do with a bit more time to get fully up to speed, while Matheus Nunes isn’t a conventional right-back.
That said, Cambiaso can play on both flanks, so he’d be an ideal addition for City.
In addition, Bruyne’s imminent departure, alongside Rodri’s long-term injury exposing City’s frailties, mean that the club is likely to look at additions in midfield.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz and Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White have been linked with a move to City, and both would be high-calibre additions to Guardiola’s squad.
