Manchester City are currently focused on trimming down Pep Guardiola’s squad.
While City’s players are away on their summer break after the FIFA Club World Cup, the hierarchy at the Premier League giants continues to explore ways to move some of their stars on, as Guardiola made it clear that he does not want to work with a big group throughout the 2025/26 campaign.
Man City’s current focus is James McAtee, as the 22-year-old is the easiest player to sell, given the interest in the midfielder from several German and English clubs.
Others, such as Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips, will not be so easy to part with. While there are others that Guardiola does not want the club to sell, but they are open to offers, which is exactly what the Manchester club have just received for a player in this category.

Galatasaray submit an offer to Man City for Ederson
It was reported last month that Ederson is open to leaving Man City this summer, which came before the Man City goalkeeper made it clear that he intends to stay at the Etihad Stadium for another season.
There have been a lot of mixed reports regarding the Brazilian, and that has made clubs confident that they could maybe sign the 31-year-old, as Galatasaray enquired about Ederson this week, with the goalkeeper believed to be open to the move.
According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Galatasaray have now taken their interest further and have submitted an official bid for the Brazilian international.
This could be a big update on the future of Ederson as the Turkish club have likely received the indication that the £35m Man City star is open to moving to Istanbul and that he is happy with the salary the club has offered him.
The Brazilian is not the only Man City star Galatasaray are keen on signing ahead of the 2025/26 season, as the Turkish giants have also enquired about another.

Manuel Akanji is wanted by Galatasaray
In addition to his update on Ederson, Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has reported that Galatasaray have enquired about the situation of Manuel Akanji at the Etihad Stadium and the conditions that it would take to bring the defender to Turkey this summer.
The 29-year-old would need to agree to a salary reduction if he wants to make the move happen, and once that has been agreed, Galatasaray will then submit an official offer for the Swiss international.
Akanji is one of the players Man City are open to letting go this summer due to his age and the fact that the centre-back struggled throughout the 24/25 campaign.
It remains to be seen what happens between Galatasaray and the two Man City stars, but what is guaranteed is that the Turkish giants will do their best to bring both players to Istanbul ahead of the new season.
