Manchester City have now decided that they want to sell another player this summer.

So far in this current summer transfer window, the Manchester club have sold Sergio Gomez, Liam Delap, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Tommy Doyle.

Following those sales, some behind-the-scenes information has come to the fore regarding another player on the books at the Etihad Stadium who could be on his way out of the club.

Man City now want to sell Yan Couto

After it was previously reported that Yan Couto had agreed terms to join Borussia Dortmund, journalist Raisa Simplicio said this about how much City are looking to sell him for in a recent post on her official X account.

She said: “Manchester City puts Yan Couto on the market; Borussia Dortmund is the main interested party English club prioritizes a sale and asks for 30 million euros [£25m] for the Brazilian full-back.”

Couto could give City a nice cash injection this summer

The defender, who was hailed for his “superb” start to the previous season at Girona by talent scout Jacek Kulig on X, has been a City player since 2020 but has not made even one appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Instead, the Brazilian has completed loan spells with Braga and Girona, who he scored one goal and delivered 10 assists for last season across 34 La Liga appearances.

In addition to his goals and assists, the right-back showed how forward-thinking he is on the ball by racking up the second-highest number of progressive carries (151) and successful take-ons (48) in the Girona squad.

In our view, to potentially get £25m to sell a player who has not made an appearance for the club and isn’t likely to this season would be a big positive for City.

However, it seems to be now down to Dortmund as to whether they stump that fee up or not.
