It has been reported that Manchester City internally believe that it would be more of a surprise if one of their players stayed instead of leaving the club this summer.
On the surface, not many players would even have a valid reason of leaving a club like City — playing at one of the biggest and best-run clubs in the world and under a manager of Pep Guardiola’s calibre.
Rarely do players get the level of stability one does at the Etihad Stadium — winning trophies season after season while having the chance to constantly improve.
But several players have been linked with exits from Manchester City, Ederson Moraes being one, despite a report on Monday stating that he has not informed the club of his desire to leave.
How Manchester City feel about Ederson Moraes’ future
It has been claimed on Tuesday that sources close to the Brazilian goalkeeper feel he has been prepared to join a club in the Saudi Pro League since the end of last season.
GiveMeSport have now been told by club sources that Manchester City would be more surprised if Ederson decided to stay at the club in the summer.
The report further states that ever since the 30-year-old was substituted in the Sky Blues’ 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur in May, he has been “acting strangely.”
After the contest, Pep Guardiola revealed that the club doctor had informed him that due to having a swollen eye after a collision with Cristian Romero, the decorated goalkeeper’s vision would have been impaired after suffering a swollen eye — with Stefan Ortega coming on for him and saving the day for the Sky Blues by making key saves.
Ederson is believed to have been offered “staggering” personal terms by clubs in Saudi Arabia to attract him to leaving City.

After Manchester City defeated Tottenham, Ederson took to Instagram to post a picture of him during the contest, captioned: “No one understands but me. See you soon.”
At the time, the post seemingly did not generate too many headlines due to the dramatic nature of City’s win that put them in pole position to retain their league title.
But considering the report states that the £35 million man’s behavior has changed since that game, it was perhaps then where he made his mind up about leaving Guardiola’s side.
