It has been reported that Manchester City were in attendance to watch Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in action during Georgia’s 3-1 loss to Spain.
This comes from 90 Min as City were one of the clubs scouting the Napoli hero, who scored against Luis de la Fuente’s side during a Euro 2024 qualifier.
It seems like Pep Guardiola and Co. have their sights set on bolstering their side out wide, with a claim on Thursday emerging that they are targeting the signing of Leroy Sane in the summer.
Manchester City reportedly scouted Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on Sunday
Branded as “special” by Jamie Carragher (via CBS Sports Golazo), the 22-year-old is undoubtedly one of the best wingers in Europe.
Last season, the Georgian international spearheaded Napoli to a long-awaited Serie A title, which led to him finishing in 17th place in the official Ballon d’Or rankings, above names like Jude Bellingham (18th), Harry Kane (19th) and Antoine Griezmann (21st).
Now, it has been revealed that Manchester City representatives were present to scout Khvicha Kvaratskhelia against Spain on Sunday.

However, fellow Premier League clubs such as Newcastle United, Chelsea and Manchester United also had officials present watching the youngster.
As things stand, Kvaratskhelia’s contract expires in 2027 and the report claims that he is in talks to further extend his deal by a year at Napoli.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is outstanding but do the treble-winners need him?
Unless the plan at Manchester City is to convert Jeremy Doku into a right winger, one cannot see where Khvicha Kvaratskhelia plays in this side.
Of course, the highly-rated wideman could well start over Doku on his favoured left flank but then that begs the question about Grealish’s minutes next season.
While Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would be an exceptional addition to the Etihad Stadium, whether his arrival should be a major priority for the club is debatable.
