Pep Guardiola has been spotted having dinner with his old president at Barcelona, Joan Laporta.
The dust has barely settled on a historic season for Manchester City, with Guardiola guiding his side to victory in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
After clinching the club’s first Champions League crown and becoming just the second English team to win the treble, City’s players and staff will enjoy a well-earned break over the summer.
That’s exactly what manager Pep Guardiola is doing, and he’s made time to meet some old friends while back in Barcelona.
On Sunday evening, Jijantes caught Guardiola enjoying dinner with family and friends including Joan Laporta, the president the coach worked under during his trophy-laden spell in charge of Barcelona.
Laporta was the Barcelona president who appointed Guardiola as manager in 2008, and despite past tensions, the pair remain close friends.
According to Mundo Deportivo, both men will be participating in the Legends Gold Trophy on Monday, a charity golf tournament.
Guardiola is expected to speak ahead of the competition that will feature City director of football Txiki Begiristain as well as former footballers Diego Forlan, Albert Riera and Christian Panucci.
Given Barcelona’s current interest in City stars Ilkay Gundogan and Joao Cancelo, there has been speculation that transfer business was discussed.
However, given the informal family-oriented nature of the meeting, this seems unlikely.

Gundogan has been heavily linked with a free move to the Camp Nou when his City contract expires at the end of June.
In recent weeks the German midfielder has repeatedly insisted that he has not made a decision on his future, although City are confident they can convince him to stay.
Cancelo joined Bayern Munich on loan on January, but the Bundesliga champions opted against activating the £60m purchase option in the deal.
City are keen to offload the Portuguese full-back after he became a disruptive presence in the dressing room.
