Manchester City look set to miss out on Swedish wonderkid Lucas Bergvall, with reports suggesting today that he is now in Barcelona to complete a transfer to the Spanish giants.
It was reported last week that City had joined Barcelona in the race for the Djurgardens starlet.
Supposedly, City had sent scouts to watch the 17-year-old.
But it looks as though the club will not be landing him now, with Barca having stolen a march…
Manchester City target Lucas Bergvall set to join Barcelona with £8.5 million deal close

It has been reported today by Fabrizio Romano that Bergvall is now closing in on a move to Barcelona.
Pep Guardiola’s former club have apparently had a proposal accepted, and the youngster is actually in the city at the moment to finalise his move.
Romano said on X: “Barça had official proposal accepted by Djurgardens, as expected – €7m plus €3m add-ons. Bergvall, in Barcelona today with his family to meet with Deco and discuss contract details. It’s about final, key details now then it will be done.”
It was suggested that City had been scouting Bergvall with a view to a potential summer move.
But it looks as though the Citizens will now not get the chance to make any swoop, with Barca on the verge of landing him. The Catalan giants are bound to make sure a huge release clause is included in his contract, as they do with all their players.
Bergvall will be an interesting watch at Barcelona
So it looks like Bergvall to Barcelona is pretty much done, with the player in the city to complete his move.
It will be interesting to see how he gets on there, with Bergvall having already drawn comparisons to Jude Bellingham, who has already developed into one of the best players in the world at Real Madrid at the age of 20.
City’s scouting network is extremely big though and fans can be assured the club are always searching for top talents around the world.
Bergvall will not be heading to City, but the club have already landed Claudio Echeverri from River Plate, and have a host of brilliant young stars at the CFA.
