It has been reported that in order to quell the impending doom that Saudi Arabia pose, Manchester City intend to offer an improved contract to Bernardo Silva.
This comes from the Times, as it has been claimed that the £43 million (BBC Sport) man is keen on a move to the Saudi Pro League.
However, it seems Manchester City have offered a better contract proposal than before to keep Bernardo Silva from leaving the club in favour of a move to Saudi Arabia.
Manchester City intend to offer improved contract to Bernardo Silva to end Saudi interest
Branded as ‘underrated’ by Ilkay Gundogan via ESPN, the Portuguese international proved yet again last season why he remains one of City’s most vital players.
Especially when it mattered most against the very best in the Champions League, the 28-year-old served up masterclasses against the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid most notably.
Now, it has been reported that Manchester City have offered a ‘new and improved contract’ to Bernardo Silva in order to convince him not to leave them in a bid to join the Saudi Pro League.

It has been added that despite having tried to leave the Etihad Stadium for three summers in a row, he is still adored by those at the club.
The decorated attacker should avoid a move to Saudi Arabia regardless
Even if Bernardo Silva snubs the reported new contract on the table from Manchester City, he should look for a move elsewhere instead of Saudi Arabia.
From a financial perspective, one can understand why players’ heads are turned at the once-in-a-lifetime chance of securing generational wealth.
But from a footballing point of view, Bernardo Silva is firmly in his prime and as a result, a player of his calibre should stay in Europe and fight for football’s biggest prizes.
A transfer to Saudi Arabia would put a pause to or perhaps even end a career at the elite level for a footballer who should be considered as an all-time great by the time he officially hangs up his boots.
