It has been reported that Bernardo Silva looks set to leave Manchester City in order to play in his football in Saudi Arabia next.

This comes from MARCA after it was reported that PSG may refuse to pay the desired fee to sign the £43 million (BBC Sport), delaying his move away from Pep Guardiola’s side for yet another season.

However, it seems like Manchester City attacker Bernardo Silva could now leave Europe in favour of a transfer to Saudi Arabia.

Branded as ‘so intelligent’ by Pep Guardiola via beIN SPORTS, the 28-year-old remains one of the best players in the world, without question.

As a result, it was expected that sooner or later, yet another elite club would come in and prise him away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.

However, it seems like Bernardo Silva has no interest in moving to another European powerhouse, with a fresh reporting claiming that his move to Saudi Arabia is almost a done deal.

In fact, the status of the potential transfer has been described as ‘almost closed’ at this stage.

Bernardo Silva should continue to play his football in Europe

At the end of the day, Bernardo Silva is entitled to move to Saudi Arabia, considering the eye-watering finances in store to secure generational wealth for his family.

However, from a strictly footballing point of view, the former Monaco technician should stay put in Europe, whether that is at or away from Manchester City.

The treble-winner has a chance to continue his reign as one of the continent’s crème-de-la-crème and continue to add silverware to his trophy cabinet, making him a true great of the game.

Bernardo Silva certainly has all the talent, application and pedigree in the world to do so and to give up on that would be a sad sight to see.
