It has been reported that Josko Gvardiol is enticed by the prospect of a transfer to Manchester City in the summer.

This comes from Fabrizio Romano’s official YouTube channel, just hours after a report claimed that City were ready to ‘intensify’ their pursuit to sign the youngster.

But now, it seems like Josko Gvardiol himself is prepared to leave RB Leipzig as he fancies a move to the newly-crowned treble winners, Manchester City.

Fabrizio Romano: Josko Gvardiol eyes Manchester City transfer

The 21-year-old is considered as one of the most promising up-and-coming centre-halves in Europe, having being brilliant for Leipzig as well as Croatia at the World Cup.

With Aymeric Laporte looking likely to leave the Premier League champions ahead of next season, it is natural that he has been looked at as a potential replacement.

Interestingly, however, Fabrizio Romano has also clarified that Josko Gvardiol himself is keen on joining Manchester City after all.

“Now guys, we can say that Manchester City are re-starting the contacts. I told you that they agreed personal terms with Mateo Kovacic, waiting for a conversation with Chelsea. But also, Josko Gvardiol is on Manchester City’s list”, Romano said.

The Italian journalist went on to report that Josko Gvardiol is keen on signing for Manchester City, saying, “Pep Guardiola is pushing to sign him. So, keep an eye on Gvardiol because Manchester City will be there this summer for him. It’s not an easy negotiation because Leipzig want to make him the most expensive centre-back ever. More than €80 million (£71 million). Way more than this. So [it’s] not an easy negotiation. The player will be keen on the move.”

A majority of Manchester City fans would likely be buzzing, as he has the potential to become the outright best centre-back in world football one day.
