A claim has been made that PSG and Bayern Munich are aiming to complete a transfer for Ilkay Gundogan in the summer.

Around three weeks ago, a report emerged stating that it was ‘likely’ that the £21 million (Daily Mail) man would approve a move to Barcelona.
As Ilkay Gundogan is yet to renew his expiring contract at Manchester City, it seems like PSG and Bayern are ready to capitalise on the uncertainty about his future by getting a transfer over the line.
PSG & Bayern keen on Gundogan transfer
Pep Guardiola, who has described the Sky Blues captain as ‘incredible’ via GOAL has gone on record to say that his priority remains to see the player stay at the club but ultimately left the decision in his hands.

Since the World Cup, the 32-year-old has reminded the world of his class yet again, thriving as an advanced midfielder alongside Kevin De Bruyne behind Erling Haaland.
90 Min have now reported that Bayern Munich have had a ‘longstanding interest’ in Ilkay Gundogan as one of their transfer targets while PSG have initiated contact to persuade him to leave City.
As it remains unclear whether the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder would be willing to prolong his stay at the club, it is a realistic possibility that his seven-year spell at the Etihad Stadium draws to a close.
MCN View: Tying Gundogan to a short-term deal should be a priority
At this point, one of football’s worst kept secrets remains that Bernardo Silva has a desire to play abroad.
In case the Portuguese international leaves alongside the German veteran, the Premier League champions will be forced to integrate two brand-new midfielders in their system, which is known to be a time-consuming process.
With that in mind, it would be advisable if Manchester City do all they can to keep Ilkay Gundogan at the club for an extra year at least, while convincing him to hold off on his transfer priorities of potentially joining PSG, Bayern or Barcelona.
Then again, that is easier said than done, especially if the club legend manages to tick off his silverware bucket list by winning the Champions League in sky blue this season.
