A claim has been made that Manchester City are looking to make a surprise move for Tajon Buchanan from Club Brugge.

This comes from InterLive.it, as Simone Inzaghi’s side have been linked with the Canadian wideman for a while at this point.

However, it seems like Manchester City could put an end to their dreams once again by hijacking a transfer for Tajon Buchanan, with a previous report claiming that they aim to add fresh faces out wide.

Manchester City now plotting Tajon Buchanan transfer

Branded as a ‘dangerous’ player with a ‘huge upside’ by New England Revolution boss Bruce Arena via MLS’ official website, the right-winger has always been considered as yet another of North America’s scary talents.

So much so that the 24-year-old has been likened to none other than Leroy Sane by John Zervos, the technical co-ordinator of Canadian academy Sigma FC, as quoted by the Toronto Star.

Now, it has been reported that Inter Milan have cause for concerns are Manchester City are considering the prospect of signing Tajon Buchanan after all.

Interestingly enough, with Buchanan having operated as a right wing-back on a number of occasions, it is claimed that City have said role in mind for him rather than just playing out wide.

Unlikely that the treble-winners try to sign Buchanan

As talented as Tajon Buchanan is, Manchester City seem unlikely to make a move for him anytime soon.

One reason behind this is that The Athletic journalist Sam Lee reported that the club plan to play four centre-backs once again next season, ruling out the potential of a brand-new right wing-back being brought in.

Secondly, it has been widely reported that even in the Sky Blues’ reported search for a new winger, they are on the lookout for players that are suited to retaining the ball more than running in behind and constantly taking on full-backs, like Jack Grealish, for instance.

As a result, a move for Buchanan seems far-fetched.
