Manchester City are reportedly looking for around £15 million to sell Taylor Harwood-Bellis.

The young central defender has just finished a brilliant season on loan at Burnley, which culminated in the Clarets getting promotion the Premier League.

Vincent Kompany’s side won the Championship, playing some tremendous football along the way.

They’re back in the top-flight now – and have a game against City on the opening day of 2023/24 to look forward to.

And one wonders if Harwood-Bellis could be lining up against City as a permanent Burnley player.

They are thought to be one of several clubs interested in buying him. And there is now word on a valuation of the player.

Manchester City want £15 million for Taylor Harwood-Bellis

According to journalist Alan Nixon, City would be open to selling Harwood-Bellis for around £15 million this summer.

There will likely not be anything imminent on the 21-year-old. He is currently with England at the U21s Euros in Georgia.

But when he comes back from the tournament he will no doubt sit down for talks with the club.

Harwood-Bellis has a lot of promise, and he now has good experience under his belt having featured 73 times in the Championship for Burnley and Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers.

But him breaking into the City first-team would be difficult.

Pep Guardiola’s centre-backs were all outstanding last season. And at the moment of course, there is talk of Josko Gvardiol coming in from RB Leipzig.

Apparently the Croatia international has now agreed terms with City ahead of a potential move.

£15 million for Taylor Harwood-Bellis would be more brilliant work by City

Harwood-Bellis has made eight first-team appearances for City, but has never played in the Premier League before.

Maybe Guardiola will take a look at him in pre-season. But it’s difficult to see him remaining at the club.

He was fantastic last season, and hopefully Kompany instructs the Burnley board to meet City’s £15 million asking price.

The former City captain loves Harwood-Bellis. He said of him last September: “I think his biggest quality, that is perhaps more difficult to see on the eye, is his leadership and his incredible drive and high standards.”

It would be a great move for him.

He already knows the players and the system. And he would finally get to test himself in the Premier League.

If a £15 million sale is made on Harwood-Bellis, then it would just further highlight just how good City’s infrastructure surrounding their young players is.
