Manchester City have now invited George Brooke for a trial after spotting him at Isthmian Premier side Cray Wanderers.
That is according to Ryan Taylor of the Mirror.
So, what is the situation involving Manchester City and George Brooke? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the City Football Group have scouts situated all across England – and one eagle eyed talent spotter employed by the treble winners has now sat up and taken notice of the teenager, who plays at left-back according to Rising Ballers.
Brooke – who is just 17 years of age – has been playing for Cray Wanderers, but was brought to Manchester City’s attention by Kinetic Academy, who helped produce Jadon Sancho, according to Taylor.

It is a slightly different approach from Manchester City, who often roam around the academies of Premier League rivals to hoover up their best talent – Manchester United recently learned this the hard way after losing Harrison Parker to the Citizens.
Manchester City are also sniffing around another Manchester United wonderkid in Kobbie Mainoo.
Nevertheless, it is a refreshing approach – and it could pay off hugely if Brooke ends up blossoming into a similar talent to Sancho.
George Brooke news proves Manchester City simply do not rest
A key aspect of football’s greatest ever sides is relentlessness.
Complacency never creeps in, and they operate as if not a single shred of success has been achieved previously.
That is evident in the news about Brooke – Manchester City have just won a historic treble, but even still, the Citizens are sniffing around grassroots football to find the next big thing.

That says it all – Manchester City are striving for success in every single department, leaving no stone unturned as they aim to continue dining at football’s top table for as long as possible.
Hopefully, Brooke can impress Manchester City during his trial period, and become a significant player in the City Football Academy.
