Manchester City have now made contact with Sao Paulo to sign Lucas Beraldo – who is also wanted by Barcelona.
That is according to Alexsander Vieira – a journalist for Bolavip.
So, what was said about Lucas Beraldo and Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, Manchester City and Barcelona are not the only European giants trying to sign the Brazilian.
Vieira adds that PSG, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have also enquired about Beraldo.
Barcelona – however – are said to be the side closest to submitting an official bid, with Sao Paulo hoping to receive around €20m (£17m).

If the Série A side receive that amount for Beraldo, it would make the 19-year-old the most expensive defender to ever emerge from Brazilian football.
Vieira adds that Sao Paulo are in no rush to sell the teenager, however – their stance is that he will remain a vital player if he stays, but if he leaves, a sale will boost the club’s finances significantly.
Manchester City could sign a gem in Lucas Beraldo
The Citizens are seemingly on the lookout for more promising central defenders after sealing a deal to sign 17-year-old Harrison Parker from Manchester United.
There was interest in Hajduk Split wonderkid Luka Vuskovic. According to The Athletic, Manchester City even submitted a £10.5m bid for the 16-year-old.
However, the Croatian wonderkid chose to join Tottenham.

Now – as Manchester City enquire about Beraldo – it is clear that the treble winners want more precocious central defenders, after being made to pay a huge £77.6m to sign Josko Gvardiol.
By the looks of it, the Citizens are keen to find these diamonds before they develop into expensive superstars.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Manchester City must fend off some of Europe’s elite clubs to sign the Sao Paulo No.35 in 2024.
