Manchester City are reported to be in advanced talks over loaning out one of the players who turned out for them at the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Citizens have had a busy summer on the transfer front as Pep Guardiola and Hugo Viana look to reshape the squad.

Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Sverre Nypan and Marcus Bettinelli have all arrived at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City have also moved several players on, with Kyle Walker, Yan Couto and Maximo Perrone being sold and others, like Kevin De Bruyne, seeing their contracts expire.

Now, it has been reported that another player could move on, one who Bernardo Silva previously said he really liked.

Manchester City in advanced talks with Roma over Claudio Echeverri loan

On Tuesday, Manchester City News relayed a report claiming Roma were interested in Claudio Echeverri.

Now, Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo has reported that the Giallorossi are not only in talks with City, but that they are advanced.

Indeed, Echeverri is said to have said yes to a switch to Roma, with personal terms not thought to be an issue.

The reporter claimed all that is needed now is for Pep Guardiola to give the green light for Echeverri to make the loan move.

Bernardo Silva’s emphatic Claudio Echeverri verdict

Echeverri was among the City players to travel to the United States for the Club World Cup.

He featured against Al-Ain, scoring a superb free kick in his 45 minutes on the pitch.

During the tournament, Bernardo said of Echeverri, as per CityXtra: “I’m a big fan of Claudio because he plays football in a similar way to the way I play.

“He has a lot of blood in his veins, fights for every possession, fights for every ball. Then his talent does the rest.

“But what I like about Claudio is he’s a No.10 or second-striker and doesn’t give up; any possession, any ball, anything he can do to help, he’s there.

“He’s a fighter – I can see, we could all see – and we were all very surprised when he joined. So I’m a big fan of Claudio!”
