AS Roma have now joined the race for a talented Manchester City star who is ready to leave on loan this summer.
The Premier League giants are currently working on trimming Pep Guardiola’s squad, and one of the easiest ways to do this is to send younger members of the Spaniard’s squad to other teams to gain experience playing senior football.
Jahmai Simpson-Pusey looks to be on his way to Celtic, while eight European clubs are keen on taking Sverre Nypan for the 25/26 campaign, as the Norwegian midfielder is a special talent.
Man City have another player that falls into that category, which is why Roma have added the youngster to their list to address a key area of their squad.

Roma add Claudio Echeverri to their transfer list
Despite impressing at times at the FIFA Club World Cup, Claudio Echeverri is expected to leave Man City on loan ahead of the 25/26 season, as Guardiola cannot guarantee the Argentine star the minutes he requires to develop at the rate the Premier League club expect.
The 19-year-old has featured only three times for Man City since his arrival in January, and Roma are now the latest club to join the race for the number 10, as the Serie A club are looking to strengthen their attacking options, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
Roma are also interested in Wolves forward Fabio Silva, and who they sign may come down to whether Gian Piero Gasperini wants a striker or a versatile attacking player.
Guardiola has high hopes for Echeverri as the legendary coach labelled the 19-year-old “incredible” following his recent goal against Al Ain at the Club World Cup.
This would have reminded clubs just how special the Argentina star could be, as Roma face some tough competition for the midfielder, should they make a move over the coming weeks.
The other clubs that are interested in Claudio Echeverri
In addition to Roma, another club that has a good chance of signing Echeverri is Girona, as the La Liga outfit are also part of The City Football Group. The Spanish side would be a good fit for the 19-year-old as he could speak his native language and play in one of the best leagues in the world.
Lyon is also an option for Echeverri for the 25/26 season after the Ligue 1 club lost several of their top players this summer due to their financial issues.
It now remains to be seen which club submits a proposal to Man City for Echeverri first, or if any other team joins the race for the Argentine star.
