Manchester City have been busier than most clubs during the summer transfer window so far.
Having experienced a tough season last time around, Pep Guardiola planned on adding four to five new faces to his squad ahead of the 25/26 campaign, and Man City hit that goal last week with the signing of Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg.
The Norwegian talent has followed Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Marcus Bettinelli to the Etihad Stadium, but the 18-year-old is in a different situation to those four players.
Nypan has been signed as a first-team player and is expected to be part of pre-season training with the rest of Guardiola’s squad next week; however, the midfielder is expected to go out on loan for the upcoming campaign.

Eight European clubs want to sign Sverre Nypan on loan
Landing Nypan was a big coup for Man City as the 18-year-old is a highly-rated talent across Europe, with Martin Odegaard even trying to convince the midfielder to move to Arsenal in the past.
The Manchester club’s plan for the Norwegian has always been to loan him out straight away, and according to Manchester Evening News, Girona are one of eight European clubs keen to sign the Manchester club’s newest star.
Fabrizio Romano previously reported that Girona were not in the running for Nypan, but that seems to have changed. The La Liga club are also interested in Claudio Echeverri, who will be competition for the 18-year-old at City over the coming years.
Only time will tell where Nypan will continue to develop over the next 12 months, as no club has made an official approach for the midfielder yet.
Nypan’s family have treated his career in a very similar way to the family of Erling Haaland, which can be seen in the way they already know what they want when it comes to choosing the 18-year-old’s next club.
Sverre Nypan’s father has a plan for his son
With a loan move on the horizon for Nypan, the midfielder’s father has now revealed the plan he has in place for his son, as the Norwegian family hope to find the youngster a club in a league that is somewhere in between the Eliteserien and the Premier League.
“It’s part of the plan, and it’s always been that way,” Arne Nypan told Nettavisen. “We’re going to find a middle ground between the Eliteserien and the Premier League, and that’s been a key element in how we intend to do it.
“We will make arrangements for him to have the best conditions to take new steps.”
Any of the big leagues in Europe would be a great place for Nypan to develop, with Spain or Germany being the ideal locations. It is clear that the midfielder has the potential to be a superstar at Man City, and the way his family look after his career indicates he will reach that status.
