Man City fans already have a worry about Sverre Nypan after he completes £12.5m move

Sverre Nypan has officially completed his move to Manchester City.

It seems clear as day that the Sky Blues rate the Norwegian highly, considering Manchester City paid £12.5 million to sign Nypan.

Manchester City’s plan for Nypan is not to loan him out to Girona as they are still assessing the best course of action for the 18-year-old’s career.

However, Manchester City fans fear that the teenager will be loaned out to one of their sister clubs and not get much of a chance in the first-team, much like some of their other former youngsters.

Fans worry Sverre Nypan won’t have much of a future at Man City

One Manchester City fan reacted to Nypan’s move by simply predicting that he will eventually join the Sky Blues’ sister club, Lommel SK on loan, writing: “Get ready for Lommel SK, buddy!”

A second City supporter was disappointed about the move, as he wrote: “Another CFG [City Football Group] signing.”

A third Manchester City fan admitted that despite Nypan’s potential, he refuses to be excited about the move as much like ex-players like Liam Delap and Romeo Lavia, he could eventually be sold too, explaining: “Until there is consistent evidence to suggest there’s a genuine route into the City first team, I refuse to get giddy about talented youngsters joining because they will most likely fall into loan purgatory before being sold for profit in three/four years.”

Another fan added that he worries Nico O’Reilly, who Manchester City wish to keep and Oscar Bobb could leave very soon, replying: “Same. Can already see the same future for Bobb and O’Reilly tbh [to be honest].”

A fifth supporter claimed that a loan move to a Premier League club for the former Rosenborg midfielder would be acceptable but not to another league, as the team in question could sign him: “Do not ship him off to another country…send him on loan to PL club or keep him at the club. But do not send him off at any cost.”

Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan predicted that Nypan is likely not to become a first-team player and eventually be moved on off the back of several unsuccessful loan spells, writing: “Welcome to the shackles of CFG. It’ll be a pleasure getting to know you for four weeks then you’ll disappear into the mist of nothingness. Two years later, you’ll end up back out in Norway because of a few failed loans. Welcome.”

With Maximo Perrone set to join Como, perhaps City fans are scarred by the fact that the club have sold a whole host of their best young talents over the years, with Cole Palmer being the prime example.

Man City believe Sverre Nypan is as talented as Real Madrid wonderkid

However, the fans might not have much to worry as Manchester City rate Nypan highly and believed they have signed a player who is similarly gifted to Real Madrid starlet Franco Mastantuono.

Fabrizio Romano recently revealed: “This is a massive one because let’s say Man City believe this could be the European Mastantuono, in the sense of a top talent available on the market at a good price, in this case, a player they really like and wanted since January,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“I remember in January, many people attacked me because I said City were in the race, and people said he was not going to City. No, guys, he’s going to City. And you can see he’s going to City.”

Fabrizio Romano concluded: “Aston Villa tried to enter this race a few months ago, but because of financial fair play, to invest this money on a boy, while without Champions League football, they could invest this money in different players, is also what made the difference.”
