Manchester City still have plenty of business to do in the transfer market over the coming weeks.

James Trafford is set to become Pep Guardiola’s sixth signing of the summer this week, as the legendary coach continues to add to his squad following an underwhelming 25/26 campaign, while it remains to be seen if a right-back is brought to the Etihad Stadium.

There will also be a big focus on outgoings as City’s squad is currently too big, and the easiest way to trim that down is with loan moves for the younger players.

Claudio Echeverri and Vitor Reis are two names that could be sent out to gain experience, as the duo are admired by several clubs. In addition to that, Man City have also received offers for a player highly thought of by Guardiola.

Celtic are pushing for Jahmai Simpson-Pusey

It was reported last week that several Championship and Scottish Premier League clubs were interested in signing Jahmai Simpson-Pusey on loan, with offers now arriving for the defender.

According to Pete O’Rourke, Celtic and Strasbourg have submitted proposals to Manchester City for Simpson-Pusey, as both look to have the 19-year-old as part of their squads for the next few months.

The Scottish champions are believed to be leading the race for the Man City star, reports Manchester Evening News, and working under Brendan Rodgers would be a big benefit for the centre-back when he returns to Manchester for the 26/27 campaign.

Guardiola made it clear that he is a fan of Simpson-Pusey after the youngster was given back-to-back starts during the first half of last season due to injury issues within the Spaniard’s squad.

A loan move to Celtic or a Championship club is exactly what the 19-year-old needs at this stage of his career, and the English talent is not the only youngster set for a loan move soon.

Max Alleyne in talks over a new Man City contract

Simpson-Pusey’s defensive partner for Man City U21s, Max Alleyne, is also attracting attention from Championship clubs, with Blackburn having enquired about the 20-year-old, reports Manchester Evening News.

According to The Athletic, Alleyne is currently in talks to extend his contract at Man City before embarking on his first loan experience, which shows how much faith the Premier League giants have in the youngster.

The defender has been training with Guardiola’s team for some time now, and after gaining experience elsewhere, the centre-back plans to earn a spot in the first-team squad ahead of the 26/27 campaign.
