Kevin De Bruyne has named his performance against Arsenal during the 2019/2020 season as his best-ever outing in a Manchester City shirt.

The Belgian playmaker was unplayable against the Gunners, scoring a brilliant brace while assisting Raheem Sterling on his way to a near-perfect display.

While Kevin De Bruyne has his pick of displays for Manchester City during his eight-year stay at the club, he believes his masterclass against Arsenal was the very best.

Branded as the ‘best player in the league’ by Gary Neville recently, the 31-year-old has dominated English football since signing for City in 2015.

In an interview with Bleacher Report, the midfield maestro was quizzed about whether his four-goal outing against Wolves last season was his finest showing for the Sky Blues.

However, Manchester City icon Kevin De Bruyne named his outstanding outing against Arsenal as his absolute best.

“Maybe Arsenal away thought I had a really good game. I think people say [against Wolves] because I scored four goals that they make it bigger as it is. I think I shot to the goal four times or five times and scored four, and I hit the post at the fifth time so people are like, ‘it’s exceptional.’

“But I think in one way, it was the best but, in another way, I’ve had better games.”

Good omen ahead of the potential title decider

Considering the two-time PFA Player of the Year tends to perform against Arsenal, this revelation is a sign that the Manchester City vice-captain could be at his devastating best on Wednesday night.

While all the attention seems to be on Erling Haaland’s battle against Rob Holding, it is the former Wolfsburg hero who will create the chances for his star striker and conjure something out of nothing.

With the kind of player De Bruyne is, one can assume that if he is in a mood to kill, the Gunners will leave Manchester with frowns on their faces.
