In January last year, Kylian Mbappe said Achraf Hakimi, who has been linked with a transfer to Manchester City the best right-back in the world.
The Paris Saint-Germain megastar took to Twitter to speak his mind about the 24-year-old, who Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to pay a huge fee to sign, as reported on Saturday.
If Manchester City are already keen on signing Achraf Hakimi, the stamp of approval from Kylian Mbappe may push them to ramp their interest.
Kylian Mbappe called Manchester City-linked Achraf Hakimi the best in the world
Whether Kyle Walker stays at the Etihad Stadium or leaves in favour of a move to Bayern Munich still remains a mystery.
And with Pep Guardiola recently admitting that the treble-winners would have happily sold Joao Cancelo to Manchester United in January, it is clear to see that not only is he on his way out but that the club may need a new right-back.
The good news for Manchester City could be that a player of the standing of Kylian Mbappe has already paid Achraf Hakimi the ultimate compliment.

“Achraf Hakimi. Best right-back in the world. Good night, guys.”
Manchester City should snub a transfer for him regardless
While Kylian Mbappe may have had a point about Achraf Hakimi being up there amongst the world’s elite right-backs, Manchester City should not stray away from their rigid defence from last season.
Pep Guardiola’s decision to play three or even four centre-backs was a masterstroke, as his side’s incredible defensive solidity led to them winning the lot.
Now, to bin that defensive structure in favour of a move for one of the most attack-minded wing-backs in Europe would be quite a bizarre decision.
Not because Hakimi does not possess bags of quality but due to the fact that City have stumbled upon the ultimate winning formula already.
