Manchester City now want to sign Real Madrid target Miguel Gutierrez – and Pep Guardiola holds an advantage over Carlo Ancelotti.
That is according to SPORT.
So, what is the situation involving Manchester City and Miguel Gutierrez? Let’s take a look…
Manchester City want Miguel Gutierrez
Well – judging by a string of stories – Guardiola appears to want a new face on the left of defence.
Bayern Munich No.19 Alphonso Davies has been mentioned as one player who could arrive to bolster the left-back department.
However – according to SPORT – Gutierrez is also now an option for Manchester City.
The Spanish news outlet believe Real Madrid and the treble winners have taken notice of the 22-year-old’s stunning efforts at Girona this season.

Gutierrez has scored one goal and provided three assists in 17 appearances as Girona sit top of La Liga.
SPORT believe the Spain Under-21 international has a €35m (£30m) release clause written into his contract, so Girona are in line to make a huge profit on the €4m (£3m) initially spent on securing his signature.
Manchester City hold advantage over Real Madrid
SPORT state that Manchester City are in pole position to sign Gutierrez as Girona are also owned by the City Football Group.
The Spanish side are part of the City Football Group umbrella, which has helped them take gems such as Yan Couto on loan from Manchester City, and also secure the services of Savinho on loan from Troyes – another club in the City Football Group.

Speaking of Savinho, the Brazilian is hoping to play for Manchester City one day, telling Premier League Brazil: “I have the goal of playing for City, yes. I think that when I was hired, my goal was always to get to City and I’m working towards that, but I have to keep my focus on Girona and do things well to get there.”
Close ties with Girona mean Manchester City have a great chance of signing Gutierrez – although any deal may hinge on what happens with the aforementioned Davies at Bayern Munich.
