Manchester City are now interested in Real Sociedad No.14 Takefusa Kubo- who has been compared to Jude Bellingham.

It was Mundo Deportivo who claimed that the treble winners are scouting the 22-year-old.

So, what is the situation involving Manchester City and Takefusa Kubo? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Spanish news outlet believe Manchester City sent scouts to watch the Japan international play in Real Sociedad’s 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday 30th September.

Kubo scored his side’s second goal in that victory – surely impressing Manchester City’s scouts in doing so – and Mundo Deportivo believe Real Sociedad have already received calls about the forward.

The Spanish news outlet add that Real Madrid and Napoli are also interested in the Japanese sensation, along with clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Kubo has enjoyed a stunning season so far, scoring five goals – while also providing two assists – across ten appearances in La Liga.

To contextualise just how impressive Kubo has been so far this season, some have actually placed him on par with Bellingham.

It was Spanish football expert Terry Gibson who claimed that the Real Sociedad wonderkid has been playing just as well as the England international this term.

Speaking on El Tel and Jon’s La Liga Weekly podcast, he said: “As good as Jude Bellingham has been this year, I think Take Kubo has been on the level in every game he’s played.”

That is quite the statement, considering Bellingham – who Manchester City wanted to sign over the summer – has already scored 13 goals in 13 appearances for Real Madrid this season.

The most recent of those goals came in Saturday’s dramatic El Clasico, which saw the Real Madrid No.5 score twice to secure a 2-1 comeback win over Barcelona.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Manchester City monitor Kubo.
