Manchester City are now set to receive a payment from the Football Association (FA) after initially missing out.
The details have been announced on the FA’s official website.
So, what is the situation involving Manchester City and the FA? Let’s take a look…
Why Manchester City will now receive payment from the FA
Well, the FA Cup holders were not selected for TV broadcast in the third round.
Other sides were granted an £85,000 payment after being chosen for screening in the United Kingdom, although Manchester City’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield was overlooked.
Now – however – Manchester City’s FA Cup fourth round clash against Tottenham has been picked for TV broadcast, meaning Pep Guardiola’s side will receive a payment of £110,000.
That was confirmed on the FA’s official website.

Of course, £110,000 is a drop in the ocean for a club as wealthy as Manchester City.
In truth, it pays just over a quarter of Kevin De Bruyne’s £400,000-a-week wages.
Nevertheless, every little helps, and this money will go towards keeping Financial Fair Play balances satisfied, or it could potentially be added to a bonus pot to keep the players motivated – in our view at least.
Manchester City fans should be furious with FA Cup scheduling
For some reason, the FA and ITV have decided to put the fourth round clash against Tottenham at 8pm on Friday 26th January.

The game takes place in north London, so Manchester City fans will now either have to spend extra on a hotel for that Friday night, or leave early amid whispers of the last train to Manchester departing while the match is still going on.
There is no reason why this clash could not take place on a Saturday afternoon – once again, those in charge of scheduling have shown little regard for supporters, which is disgusting.
