As Manchester City prepare to face Southampton on Saturday, we have done the impossible task of trying to call Pep Guardiola’s predicted lineup.
Coming off their statement 4-1 battering of Liverpool, we expect Guardiola to ring in 5 changes for the upcoming clash, considering they host Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Manchester City predicted lineup vs Liverpool
As per usual, Ederson is expected to start in our Manchester City predicted lineup against Liverpool.
At right-back, Kyle Walker could come in place for John Stones for Saturday’s clash.
Another change that could occur is Manuel Akanji being displaced by Aymeric Laporte against Ruben Selles’ side.
However, Ruben Dias could retain his place in our Manchester City predicted lineup against Liverpool.
At left-back, Rico Lewis could come in for Nathan Ake in an inverted left-back role against the Saints.
Rodri is likely to keep his place in the side as well after yet another stupendous display against Jurgen Klopp’s side last weekend.
In front of him is likely to be Kevin De Bruyne, who scored and assisted against Liverpool in yet another big-game masterclass from the Belgian.
At right-wing, Riyad Mahrez is likely to start after he put on a brilliant showing against the Reds as well.
The same goes for Jack Grealish, who was praised by Alan Shearer and Erling Haaland in what was arguably his best performance for the Sky Blues till date.

Up front, it is unlikely to see Julian Alvarez dropped in our Manchester City predicted lineup against Southampton as he starred in Erling Haaland’s absence.
Speaking of Haaland, he is likely to start from the off and play till a certain point, after being seen in training, as seen on the Beanyman Sports YouTube channel.
With his impact since stepping foot in Manchester described as ‘astonishing’ by Rio Ferdinand, as relayed by the Mirror he could inch closer to beating the all-time Premier League record in a single season on Saturday (six away from breaking Mohamed Salah’s record).
